Scott Overholser, DDS

OWNER

I am a long-time resident of Lakeshore East with 28 years of dentistry experience. I firmly believe that Dentistry can change people’s lives which really drives my passion for the field. I love using the latest technology with modern techniques to create extraordinary patient results. 

Over the course of my career, I have been lucky enough to work with the amazing people in the Chicago community as well as visiting celebrities and international royalty. With 100’s of 5-star reviews on Google, I fundamentally believe in open communication; patient education and a gentle touch to ensure a comfortable experience that empowers patients. To help create my practice environment, I only work with like-minded dentists and staff who are warm, empathetic and passionate about creating a great experience for our patients. 

Originally a Hoosier, I received my DDS from Indiana University and grew up in nearby Mooresville outside of Indianapolis, Indiana. When I'm not in the office, I love being a tourist in my own city and spending time with my family, pet bulldog and cat.

Danielle Plesh, DMD

DENTIST

BFA from Harrington College of Interior Design. She began her professional journey as an interior designer, traveling and immersing herself in diverse experiences across the United States. After fifteen years, she returned to her roots as a dedicated dentist with a passion for creating lasting smiles.

Dr. Danielle completed her dental school prerequisites at the University of California, San Diego, and earned her DMD from the Medical University of South Carolina. She was awarded a scholarship from the Pankey Institute, where she specialized in occlusion, and further honed her surgical skills at Oregon Health and Science University. Her extensive training encompasses various areas, including cosmetic veneer dentistry, facial aesthetics (PRF, Botox, and fillers), Invisalign, occlusal analysis, oral surgery, and implant placement. As an Invisalign Certified provider, she is committed to ensuring that teeth align harmoniously with each patient’s unique dental structure.

Beyond her practice, Dr. Danielle is passionate about giving back to the community. She has volunteered her dental services at numerous homeless shelters and clinics across the United States, including UCSDPDS Clinics in San Diego, CA; ECCO in Mt. Pleasant, SC; and the Chicago Dental Society Foundation Clinic in Wheaton, IL. Additionally, she has participated in mission trips with the US Pacific Partnership Mission of Mercy to the Philippines and a Christian mission trip to Thailand. Most recently, in 2024, she contributed to the Illinois Mercy Mission, where she and her colleagues provided over $1.5 million in dental care in just two days.

An intuitive healer and Reiki Certified Master, Dr. Danielle values the opportunity to accompany her patients on their dental journeys. She believes in treating people, not just teeth. Come meet Dr. Danielle!

Al-Yazeed Yousef, DMD

DENTIST

Dr. Yousef is a skilled surgeon with a focus in extractions, wisdom tooth removal, implants, including all-on-4 / full mouth implants and sedation dentistry. His dedication to patient comfort and cutting-edge techniques is evident in his extensive training and clinical experience. With a high interest in dental surgery, Dr Yousef completed a hospital based general practice residency followed by an implant fellowship. With over 600 hours of continuing education, he remains at the forefront of dental implant advancements. Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Yousef shares his knowledge as a Dental Attending at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, mentoring the next generation of dental professionals. When not immersed in the world of dentistry, he enjoys the tranquility of biking along the lakefront path and aspires to become a dedicated runner.

Mo Taheri, DMD

DENTIST

Dr. Mo Taheri studied extensively in Toronto and Boston, achieving his B.S in Human Biology at the University of Toronto in 2001. He received his DMD at Tufts University in Boston in 2005 and immediately following that he spent a year in a General Practice Residency in Newark, NJ. After practicing for 2 years, Dr. Taheri decided to return to Tufts to pursue his specialty training in Prosthodontics. He became board certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2011. Dr. Taheri achieved fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in the specialty of Prosthodontics in 2016.

Immediately upon finishing his Prosthodontic training, Dr. Taheri was invited to be a clinical instructor at Tufts University in the division of Graduate and Post-Graduate Prosthodontics. During his time there, he developed a didactic course on Occlusion, as well as assisting the department with board preparation. In addition, Dr. Taheri has been an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists of Canada since 2018 for the specialty of Prosthdontics.  Dr. Taheri is a fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics, and a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. 

Dr. Taheri has lectured nationally and internationally on topics including treatment planning, occlusion, esthetic, and implant dentistry. He has been invited to participate in dental podcasts as well as contributing to the education of general dentists.

    With a passion for business and a love for all things dental I could not imagine doing anything else!  I really love that we have the incredible honor & opportunity to change people's lives through dentistry. When I am not collaborating with my dental dream team, you can find me biking the lakefront path; kayaking; and spending quality time with my husband, cat and bulldog.

    PRACTICE MANAGER

    As Practice Manager at Lakeshore East Dental Arts, I’m passionate about creating a welcoming experience for our patients while ensuring our team and day-to-day operations run smoothly. I truly enjoy helping patients navigate their dental care with ease and ensuring every visit is a positive one.

    I also love learning new things and am always looking for opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. I’m excited to continue my education, expand my knowledge, and grow within the dental field and in my leadership role.

    Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and attending concerts!

    KAYLEE

    DENTAL HYGIENIST

    A Chicago suburbs native, Kaylee fell in love with dentistry when she began working as a dental assistant in 2014. Her passion led her to earn a Health Sciences degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, followed by her dental hygiene certification from College of DuPage. Known for her warm and caring approach, Kaylee tailors each patient's care to their unique needs. When she's not helping patients achieve their best smile, you'll find her spending time with loved ones, exploring new destinations, or hitting the ski slopes.

Above all, I love educating every patient on personalized oral hygiene strategies, empowering them with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve and maintain excellent oral health for a lifetime.
